What we collect
TreePassport may collect your name, email address, account credentials, organization, country and phone number. When you use field tools, we collect tree identifiers, precise location, photographs, planting and growth measurements, notes, and timestamps. Tree-planting sponsorship flows may collect contact details, payment method, amount, and transaction reference; payment credentials are handled by the relevant payment provider.
Why we use it
We use this data to authenticate you, register and verify trees and forests, deliver physical planting and monitoring services, maintain the public restoration registry, synchronize offline field records, provide service evidence and impact reporting, process support requests and payments, prevent abuse, and operate and improve the service.
Sharing and security
We share data only with service providers needed to host the platform, process payments, deliver support, and protect the service, or where legally required. Public registry records may display tree or forest details, approximate or precise planting location, photographs, passport identifiers, and attribution you submit. We use encrypted transport and access controls, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Retention and deletion
Account and private profile data is retained while your account is active and deleted when you use the in-app deletion control or submit a valid deletion request. To preserve the integrity of environmental records and prevent double counting, verified public tree and forest records may be retained after being disassociated from and anonymized against your account. Financial records may be retained where required by tax, fraud-prevention, or other legal obligations.
Your choices
You can decline camera or location permission, although planting and monitoring features that require evidence will not work. You can delete a non-staff account from Account → Delete account in the app. See the account deletion page for another request route.
